Liverpool are reportedly set to travel to Berlin next week for a transfer summit involving other Premier League clubs.
The Premier League will go on a short two-week break after this weekend’s round of games due to the upcoming March international break.
Several Liverpool players are expected to jet off to their different national team camps to take part in a series of international games set to be held between March 17th and 25th.
The Reds pair Jarell Quansah and Curtis Jones have already received call-ups to the England squad, while former Liverpool captain and Ajax star Jordan Henderson was also called up by new England manager Thomas Tuchel.
With league games set to take a back seat for two weeks, English top-flight clubs are now planning to make use of this window to discuss their summer transfer plans in Berlin next week.
This is according to a report from Express Sport, which claims that Liverpool, alongside Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, are among “the Premier League clubs travelling to Berlin next week to hold crunch transfer talks ahead of the summer window.”
According to the report, “Representatives from teams all over the world are attending the popular TransferRoom summit on March 16 and 17. The summits allow high-ranking club officials to network with counterparts from all over the world. Face-to-face ‘speed-dating’ meetings take place, and the event is considered the largest gathering of football’s key decision-makers.”
The report also highlighted that the summit previously helped Manchester United sign players last summer.
According to TransferRoom CEO Jonas Ankersen, the platform was created to add “transparency” to the transfer market.
The platform is largely online, but the summits take place in person. Since its launch in 2017, it has helped facilitate over 6,500 deals.
Express Sport claims that “clubs, leagues, and agencies can pay a subscription service to access an online marketplace that tells them which players might be available and allows them to contact other clubs.”
Liverpool is reportedly pursuing several targets for this summer. Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez, and Jorrel Hato are a few of the names the club is seriously keen on bringing to Anfield in the next transfer window.
