It appears as though the Minnesota Vikings are holding the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants hostage.
According to NFL insider, Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Rodgers is waiting to hear which direction the Vikings are going to take regarding the quarterback position before he ultimately decides where he wants to go.
That would mean that it is a three-team race right now. The Steelers and the Giants are waiting on Rodgers and the Vikings to determine who will run their offense.
The Giants cannot wait any longer. They must sign Russell Wilson today before he leaves the facility and start planning for the 2025 season.
New York needs a capable veteran quarterback. The longer they wait to get one, the less likely they are to get a good one. Joe Schoen has to put his big boy pants on and make a decision and sign Wilson while he has him at his disposal.
Wilson, who visited with Cleveland on Thursday, could get an offer from the Browns and accept it at any time. That would take the Giants out of play for the Super Bowl champion quarterback and leave them pining for Rodgers or being stuck with a Tier 2 veteran like Jameis Winston.
Quarterback play has hindered the Giants for years with Daniel Jones at the helm. New York cannot wait another year to get a starting quarterback. The fans won't tolerate it and it will probably give Schoen a one-way ticket out of New York before the season is over.

Even if the Giants are able to get the rookie they want with the third pick, Miami's Cam Ward, chances are he will not be ready to start on Day 1. Even Eli Manning sat behind Kurt Warner until the time was right and the torch was passed.
Sign Wilson now and take a shot in the draft and see what happens. The Giants would be a much better team with Wilson at the helm than they have been in years.
