Under the previous regime, the New York Jets had a penchant for finding undrafted free agents and turning them into quality starters along the defensive side of the ball.
Tony Adams and Leonard Taylor are prime examples of this, but the best overall example happened to be edge rusher Bryce Huff. The Memphis product improved his sack total every year with the Jets and turned that into a three-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason.
In a new regime, though, Huff not only struggled, but was even made to be a healthy scratch during the Eagles' domination in Super Bowl LIX.
Now that the offseason has begun, it looks like Philadelphia is trying to get off of the Huff contract no matter what. And that could entice the Jets to try for a reunion if they so choose.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that the Eagles were shopping Huff and Pro Bowl tight end Dallas Goedert this offseason. In the case of Goedert, the 30-year-old tight end has battled injuries and is looking for a new contract.
New York desperately needs a tight end so they could be an organization that inquires about the veteran.

In the case of Huff, though, New York already knows what the 26-year-old brings to the table. They have a need at edge rusher with Jermaine Johnson recovering from a torn Achilles last offseason.
Could the Jets try and find common ground with the Eagles to look for a way to get back their old edge rusher?
Never say never - especially if New York doesn't feel they can get a top pass rusher in the Draft at the spot they have.
