Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has insisted that he ‘does not expect’ one outcome from Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League clash against Leicester City.
Manchester United languish in 14th place and the Red Devils have only managed nine wins from 28 Premier League matches in the 2024-25 campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s men are comfortably 17 points clear of the relegation zone, but United are a whopping 15 points behind the Premier League top four.
The Red Devils have won only one of their last five Premier League matches under Ruben Amorim ahead of their encounter with Leicester City on the weekend.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City will welcome United to the King Power Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off for the Premier League match slated for 7pm UK time.
Leicester are winless in their last five Premier League matches and the 19th-place Foxes are six points adrift from climbing out of the relegation zone.

What Paul Merson saw in Man Utd vs Arsenal ahead of the Leicester City clash
Paul Merson’s prediction for Manchester United vs Arsenal backfired after the Red Devils secured a 1-1 Premier League draw at Old Trafford last Sunday.

United shared the points with Arsenal on the day, despite Ruben Amorim’s side breaking the deadlock and taking the lead through Bruno Fernandes in the first half.
Speaking in his column for Sportskeeda, Gunners legend Merson claimed that he wasn’t blown away by United’s performance against Arsenal last weekend.
“I don’t think it was fun watching Manchester United in the draw against Arsenal,” he said.
“They sat back and booted the ball away throughout the game. Even though they looked a different side on the counter, I wouldn’t want to watch this every week if I were a United fan.
“To be fair to Ruben Amorim, you have to start somewhere to usher in the makeover that’s much-needed at Old Trafford.”

What is Paul Merson’s scoreline prediction for the Leicester City vs Man Utd Premier League match?
The Red Devils are heading to the King Power Stadium with serious momentum behind them after United picked up a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.
United knocked Real Sociedad out of the Europa League on Thursday evening and Amorim’s men have now reached the quarter-finals of the competition.
Merson admitted that he can’t see Leicester beating the Red Devils and the Sky Sports pundit has told United manager Amorim to “focus” on the Europa League.
“I find it hard to pick a Manchester United win every week, but Leicester are so poor,” he continued.
“I don’t expect Leicester to get anything from this game.
“Pretty much like Spurs, United should also focus on the Europa League. That is all they have to play for now.
“Maybe trying out a few young players from the academy would be a great idea against Leicester!”
Merson has tipped United to clinch all three Premier League points and has predicted the Red Devils to secure a 2-0 scoreline against the Foxes at the King Power.
