Aaron Rodgers may be looking to sign a new contract, but one thing is clear, whoever he plays for next season won't be the New York Jets.
New York confirmed this week their intention to release Rodgers with a post-June 1st tag and allow the four-time NFL MVP to sign with a new team as soon as possible. While Rodgers takes his sweet time, though, the future Hall-of-Famer is expected to make an appearance out in public soon.
According to the Sports Business Journal's Chris Smith, Rodgers will be attending the RX3 Growth Partners charity flag football game in California.
(That explains why he was recently photographs walking - alone - on a beach in Malibu. See below.)

RX3 is a group Rodgers founded in 2019 alongside the likes of Josh Allen, Bryce Young, Sam Darnold, Joe Flacco, Daniel Jones and Marcus Mariota. All of them are expected to attend, along with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Puka Nacua and Rodgers' old teammate Randall Cobb.
Rodgers will be 42 years old during the 2025 season and will hope to rebound after a disastrous two seasons with the Jets.

Rodgers tore his Achilles four plays into his Jets debut in 2023. New York won just seven games in his absence. Back on the field for the 2024 season, Rodgers won just five games as the team's starting quarterback in a year that resulted in a full organizational firesale across the board.
Now, Rodgers is looking for a new home with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings seen as intended teams of interest for the Hall-of-Famer.
Whatever the case, his final years in the league won't be spent with the Jets.
