Alessia Russo bagged her 15th goal of the season in a 3-1 win over Everton in the Barclays Women's Super League.
Our number 23 opened and closed the scoring on a brisk Friday night and after the full time whistle, chatted pitchside about the fixture.
_Here is everything she had to say:_
**on the match...**
Yeah, it was important to get three points and we were really disappointed last weekend so I think it was a really good reaction from everyone. From start to finish, we were dominant.
**on getting a fresh start after last weekend's disappointment...**
The FA Cup is a tournament we wanted to go far in as a club so it was really disappointing and we knew that we took a lot of responsibility as players and as a team. Tahis week was really good. Training was at a high level and then we came into the game and we took our chances and I think we played some really nice spells of football.
**on this team's effectiveness in both boxes...**
I have so much fun when I play with this team. We have so many different threats going forward and we’re dominant in our box too, so I think it’s just fun to play football, being in and around everyone and just work to everyone’s strengths.
**on moving into second place in the league...**
It’s massive. We want to be taking this club and these games further and further. Everton away is a tough place to come, especially when they’re a top side and they’ve recruited really well over the last few windows. We knew they’d be a tough side but I think we stuck to our plan and did what we’re really good at on the ball. We were ruthless in both boxes.
**on her first Champions League quarter-final...**
I can’t wait. Champions League nights are what I dreamed of as a kid so I am so excited. We’ll get recovered, rested and be ready but I know the whole squad is really looking forward to it.
