Celtics Injury Report: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown Status Revealed vs Heat

The Boston Celtics will be taking on the Miami Heat tonight as they try to get back on track. Boston is coming off a frustrating game that they dropped to Oklahoma City last time around so they will try to add to the win column.

However, Boston could be very shorthanded for this game against the Heat. Both star forwards, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have landed on the injury report ahead of this game.

Tatum has been dealing with right knee tendinopathy while Brown is dealing with right knee posterior impingement. The two-star players were listed as questionable for this contest on the original report.

Tatum will play in this game while Brown has been ruled out.

Boston needs both players to be healthy down the line if they want to reach their goal of winning another title. The team is also playing the first game of a back-to-back so they could elect to rest some players.

Both Brown and Tatum are vital to the overall success of the Celtics, giving Boston two legitimate players who can impact games on both ends of the floor. They have helped this team maintain themselves through the long regular season as they get ready for the upcoming playoff run.

This game with Miami could be a potential player preview as the Celtics sit in the No. 2 spot of the Eastern Conference standings. Boston holds a record of 47-19 and they have won seven of their past 10 games overall.

Miami is currently in the No. 9 slot in the East standings, holding a record of 29-36. But due to the tight Play-In race in the standings, Miami could easily land as the No. 7 seed which would put them against Boston in the first round of the postseason.

Boston is essentially locked into the No. 2 spot within the East standings barring any dramatic occurrences down the stretch. This gives them some cushion to rest players intermittently as they aren't fighting for postseason seeding.

If they enter the playoffs healthy, many will consider the Celtics the favorites to repeat. They have a ton of firepower across the roster and will be a nightmare matchup for any opponent to deal with.
