Pittsburgh Steelers fail to land Cooper Kupp

While many floated the idea, former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is not heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kupp is heading to the Seattle Seahawks, where he will play just two hours away from where he grew up in Yakima, Washington.

Kupp had over 12 teams interested but had a high asking price, and many were worried about going up to that amount. All in all, he will get around $15 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Most teams were only willing to pay around $12 million.

The Rams tried to trade Kupp, but no teams seemed to be interested in trading for the 32-year-old wide receiver who was once the NFL’s triple-crown winner.

Since his standout 2000-yard receiving season, Kupp has dealt with injuries. He had not played in more than 12 games with injuries cropping up. This season, he missed nearly half the year with a high ankle sprain.

Kupp plays mostly in the slot, notching over 450 snaps there in 2024 compared to just around 100 outside. However, he is a great blocker. That will all work with Seattle, as Kupp replaces DK Metcalf.
