Just-released Pittsburgh Steelers player suspended for PEDs

Former Pittsburgh Steelers and new Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi has been suspended by the NFL for six games due to violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).

Bills general manager Brandon Beane announced this on Friday, and said he did not know about Ogunjobi’s impending suspension when he signed with the Bills earlier this week. The Steelers moved on from Ogunjobi after three years with the team and saved cap space while doing that.

The new deal for Ogunjobi was for $8 million guaranteed and at a base value of $8.3 million, and it has incentives that allow Ogunjobi to earn up to $10 million.

In 2024, Ogunjobi had just 16 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. He played 15 games, posting 1.5 sacks and 16 tackles. Over his three years with the Steelers, Ogunjobi had just six sacks overall.

The Steelers released Ogunjobi on Monday, and it did not take him long to find work. The Bills needed to add consistent players up front, and Ogunjobi now joins Joey Bosa as the new signees to their front, but this hurts those acquisitions.
