Veteran NFL quarterback Russell Wilson remains available on the fifth day of NFL free agency, and a couple of teams have been in the running for him.
He met with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday and left without reaching an agreement. He then headed to the Tri-state Area for a meeting with the New York Giants, who badly need a starting signal-caller, on Friday.
According to insider Jeremy Fowler, Wilson is still meeting with the Giants as of Friday evening, which seems to be a good sign as far as a possible agreement.
"Russell Wilson has really spent the last 24 hours or so in the New York area meeting with the Giants," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "He left Cleveland yesterday afternoon, got in early for some dinner to meet with some Giants folks throughout this process and as far as I know, he has not left yet. So it seems like it's been a meeting that's going well. Cleveland's meeting yesterday was more exploratory in nature. They were just kind of getting to know each other a little bit."
Ian Rapoport also offered some more insight into the situation, especially as far as New York in concerned.

Wilson spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and after missing the first six games with a calf ailment, he threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
He isn't the player he was several years ago when he was consistently making the Pro Bowl as a member of the Seattle Seahawks, but he could be a decent bridge quarterback for the quarterback-hungry Giants.
The Giants, of course, are also in the running for Aaron Rodgers, who seems to be taking his sweet time in deciding who to play for this coming season. Rodgers spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets, and if he were to choose the Giants, it would mean he could remain put in the New York City area without having to look for a new home.
