Russell Wilson Still in Play for Steelers with No Giants Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Plan B is still alive as Russell Wilson left his meeting today with the New York Giants without a contract, just as he did on Thursday in Cleveland.

As the Steelers frustratingly wait on Aaron Rodgers to make a decision after offering him a deal on Wednesday, free agent quarterbacks are falling off the board.

The Steelers are waiting on Rodgers. The Giants are waiting on Rodgers.

The Browns are ... well ... still the Browns.

Rodgers reached out to the Giants last month during the NFL Scouting Combine looking for work. At that time he had no prospects and seemed desperate for work.

Now it appears suitors are coming out of the proverbial woodwork as the Steelers, Giants and Vikings all appear to be interested.

For Wilson, it's the Browns, Steelers or Giants, and it's possible Pittsburgh isn't even interested in him any longer. Mason Rudolph is back in the family but he's likely playing second fiddle to whoever is starting.

For all three teams, it will be a matter of money and availability.

How much does Wilson want? How much does Rodgers want? For Wilson, it may come down to a backup role somewhere or remaining unsigned until the season when a starter goes down with an injury somewhere.
