Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden made headlines both on and off the court on Friday.
Ahead of their showdown with the Atlanta Hawks, Harden had fans buzzing as he arrived in style for the game. He was seen rolling up to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with a custom Maserati. Apparently, his ride was part of a promotional campaign for the launch of his latest Adidas sneakers.
After turning heads off the court, James proved that his swag also translates on it. Against the Hawks, he finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks, helping lead the Clippers to the 121-98 victory.
With his offensive performance, Harden climbed to No. 12 on the all-time scoring list. He entered the game with 27,291 points, needing 23 points to surpass Elvin Hayes (27,313 points).
The Clippers posted about Harden's achievement on social media.
"The Harden way," the Clippers wrote along with an edited image highlighting his achievement. "James Harden surpassed Elvin Hayes for sole possession of 12th place on the NBA's all-time points list."

James Harden is now averaging 22.3 points per game this 2024-25 season, which puts him on track to climb all the way up to the No. 11 spot on the all-time scoring list and break Moses Malone's mark of 27,409 points.
If Harden maintains his current scoring average, he's projected to surpass Malone in the next four or five games.
It will take some time for him to crack the top 10 list, however, with Carmelo Anthony still over 900 points ahead of him for that spot.
