Chase, Higgins contract extensions could be done in the coming days, per report

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Cincinnati Bengals are making “significant progress” in contract extensions for Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The NFL insider says the deals “could be finalized in the coming days.”

Rapoport did say there is work to be done, but “Joe Burrow’s wish is close to coming true.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the expectation is that Chase’s new contract would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

“The expectation around the league is that Ja’Marr Chase’s new deal, if and when it gets done, will average somewhere in the range of $40.1 million to $41 million per year, topping Myles Garrett and making him the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL, as the Bengals said he would be,” Schefter reported Friday.
