On March 14, 2025, the Denver Nuggets secured a 131-126 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in a closely contested game at Ball Arena. Despite missing key players like LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Rui Hachimura, the Lakers played with determination.

Austin Reaves led the way for Los Angeles with 37 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds, including 22 points in the first half. Rookie Dalton Knecht also contributed significantly, scoring 32 points on 13-for-27 shooting, including 5-for-13 from beyond the arc.

Shake Milton added 16 points off the bench, and Jordan Goodwin chipped in with 10 points and 6 assists. However, despite their strong performances, the Lakers struggled to finish the game. Reaves missed a key shot with the game tied at 126-126, and a turnover in the final seconds allowed Denver to seal the win.

The Nuggets, led by reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, were able to hold on for the win. Jokic posted 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, playing a key role throughout the game. Jamal Murray came up big in the final moments, hitting a crucial 3-pointer with just 6 seconds left to give Denver a 129-126 lead.

The game was back-and-forth, with the Lakers leading 40-32 after the first quarter. However, the Nuggets responded in the second, outscoring the Lakers 39-27 to take a 71-67 halftime lead.

Despite a strong effort from the Lakers, especially in the third quarter, Denver’s late-game execution, including Murray’s timely 3-pointer, helped them secure the win. This victory extended the Nuggets' strong season, while the Lakers’ losing streak continued without their star players.
