Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford remains the highest-paid player at the club, pulling in an incredible £40,000-a-week.
Per Salary Sport, Patrick Bamford is Leeds United’s highest-paid, permanent player right now, and it’s certainly a controversial talking point given the striker’s lack of fitness and lack of form in this 2024/25 season so far.
The 31-year-old has featured just 10 times in the Championship this season, failing to score, and having not featured since New Year’s Day owing to a hamstring injury which seemingly has no end in sight either.
He remain under contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2026 as well and so Leeds will be paying his sky high wages for a while longer yet. Offloading him hasn’t, seemingly, been a realistic option, because of his high wages.
But the 49ers will surely bring in new players in the summer on much more than Bamford, should Daniel Farke get the side promoted from the Championship this season. Up next for the Whites is a trip to QPR on Saturday afternoon.

Bright Osayi-Samuel wage demands emerge amid Leeds United interest
Bright Osayi-Samuel is a target for Leeds United ahead of the summer where he’s set to see his Fenerbahce contract run out. Jose Mourinho has been keen to tie the Nigerian international to a new deal but the right wing-back looks determined to leave as a free agent, with Osayi-Samuel keen to return to England.
Now, reports in Turkey from Turkiye Gazetesi have revealed that Osayi-Samuel’s wage ‘demand’ is a staggering €2.5million-per-year (£2.11million), and that the maximum Fenerbahce are willing to offer him is €1.8million (£1.52million). That’ll surely prove to be the final nail in the coffin where his future in Turkey is regarded.
But whether or not that would appeal to Leeds United remains to be seen. That £2.11million salary demand would see Osayi-Samuel earn £40,500-a-week approximately, eclipsing Bamford’s wages and making Osayi-Samuel the highest-earner at Elland Road.

The race for Bright Osayi-Samuel is heating up, Leeds United not alone
Osayi-Samuel, now 27, has been a worthwhile signing for Fenerbahce, having played 169 total games since arriving, with seven goals and 13 assists, as well as now boasting 18 caps for Nigeria too.
But Leeds are not alone in their interest of the wing-back. Speaking to Leeds United News recently, transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed widespread transfer interest in Osayi-Samuel, saying: “I’ve heard Crystal Palace, Fulham, Everton and Sheffield United [like Osayi-Samuel].
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Leeds are also interested with him being available on a free. He won’t be cheap [wage-wise]. A lot of Premier League clubs like him. We don’t know if he wants to come back to England. He has a few offers.”
With some established Premier League teams in the running, they might be able to offer a deal for Osayi-Samuel; not only with ease with regards to wages but well before the end of the season too.
Leeds would first have to wait until they earn promotion or not, and then have to consider whether they’d make him their highest-earner.
The Whites’ game against QPR kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday.
