In a statement released Friday afternoon, the United Center confirmed that staff discovered "minor damage" to the banners, which will remain down for the rest of the season.
However, nearby banners honoring division titles and conference championships were not affected and will stay in place.
The Bulls won six championships in eight years during their dominant 1990s run, securing two separate three-peats from 1991-93 and 1996-98, with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen leading the way.
