The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp on a three-year, $45 million contract. This move comes after Kupp was released by the Rams earlier this week.

While the agreement has been reported, the contract has not yet been officially signed. Cooper Kupp, 31, is originally from Yakima, Washington, and played college football at Eastern Washington University.

Over the course of his eight seasons with the Rams, Kupp established himself as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. In 2021, he had a historic season, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He also won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award and was named Super Bowl LVI MVP after playing a key role in the Rams' championship win.

Kupp’s career, however, has been impacted by injuries in recent seasons. After struggling with injuries and missing games, Kupp’s production dropped, leading the Rams to release him in March 2025. Despite these challenges, his proven abilities made him an attractive option for other teams.

The Seahawks, who made significant changes to their receiving corps this offseason, moved quickly to sign Kupp. Seattle released wide receiver Tyler Lockett and traded DK Metcalf, leaving room for Kupp to step in as a veteran presence.

Kupp will join Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the Seahawks' revamped receiving group. The team also signed Sam Darnold as their new quarterback, who will now rely on Kupp and other receivers to strengthen Seattle’s passing game.

Kupp’s signing is a major addition for the Seahawks. His experience and ability to make plays will provide the team with a valuable weapon. As Kupp returns to his home state of Washington, this move marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to contribute to Seattle’s success in the upcoming seasons.
