Man rams bulldozer into brother’s home over inheritance

Man attempts to demolish brother’s home with excavator during iftar in Egypt’s Dakahlia

Dubai: As a family gathered around the dinner table to break their fast during the sacred moments of Ramadan iftar, chaos shattered the peace. The sound of clattering dishes was suddenly drowned out by the roar of a bulldozer crashing into the walls of their home — driven, authorities say, by a man seeking revenge against his own brother.

In a chilling act that has stunned residents of Al Orman village in Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt, a man attempted to bring down his brother’s house with heavy machinery while the family was still inside. What should have been a moment of spiritual reflection and familial warmth turned into a scene of terror, as parts of the house began to crumble and the family screamed for help.

Authorities said the attack stemmed from a deep-rooted inheritance dispute that had festered for years. The man, consumed by anger over the division of family property, used a large excavator in what officials described as a deliberate and dangerous act of retaliation.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after neighbors reported the incident. Miraculously, no injuries were reported, but the house suffered significant damage. The suspect was arrested and later confessed that his actions were fueled by years of unresolved conflict.

Dakahlia Governor Tarek Merzouk ordered an engineering committee to assess the safety of the damaged home and surrounding structures.
