Raphinha linked with heartbreaking transfer after Leeds United exit

Leeds United fans could be set for more heartbreak rumours emerged linking former Elland Road hero Raphinha with a move to bitter rivals Manchester United.

The winger became a firm favourite of Leeds fans during his 67 games at the club earning the Brazilian a big-money move to Barcelona.

He has impressed since his move to Catalonia and has become a regular starter under both Xavi and Hansi Flick, which looks to have now attracted the attention of some English clubs.

Reports indicate that Man United have a keen interest in securing a summer deal for Raphinha with target Nico Williams likely to choose Arsenal or Barcelona over the Red Devils.

If Williams was to make a move to the Nou Camp, the Catalan club would likely be keen to offload Raphinha to help with their struggling finances.

According to Spanish media outlet Fichajes, a move to Old Trafford would trigger a "domino effect" that would aid Barcelona in securing a move for Williams, who has previously expressed his desire to play at the historic Spanish side.

For Leeds supporters the prospect of Raphinha donning the red of United is a bitter pill to swallow, with many fans being heartbroken at the sight of the Brazilian playing outside of Yorkshire.

United will be unfazed by his previous allegiances with the club said to be impressed by his goal-scoring record and performances during his time in the Premier League.

The Manchester side is searching for instant success under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who may have to search deep into his pockets to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford with the website Transfermarkt currently valuing the former Leeds star at an eye-watering £67 million.

However, Raphinha is a regular starter in Spain, scoring 47 and assisting 44 in his 128 games and has publicly shown his commitment and love for his time at the Nou Camp.

With the winger still having two more years left on his contract it is unclear what the future holds for him.
