Rob Lee has predicted who he thinks will score for Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
The day is almost upon us. Newcastle United fans are now flocking to London to party on the streets before the big game on Sunday.
Predictions have been coming in thick and fast this past week, with pundits completely split on who they believe will win.
Andy Carroll predicted a Newcastle win, ending their 70-year wait for a trophy. The former Toon star will be at Wembley for the game alongside the likes of Alan Shearer and former Newcastle owner Amanda Staveley. However, the likes of Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney predicted a Liverpool win on Sunday evening.
Rooney blamed Newcastle fans for their trophy drought, claiming that they were making it too big an occasion. The fans in attendance won’t care about the background noise at all and will just be willing their team on to bring the trophy back to Tyneside.
With the cup final just a day away, Newcastle legend Rob Lee has made his prediction for who he thinks will score for the Magpies at Wembley.

Rob Lee’s Newcastle United goalscorer prediction
This season, Newcastle players have found it difficult to find the back of the net, with just nine different players scoring in the Premier League this season.
However, Alexander Isak has scored 22 times in all competitions, including 19 league goals. Despite his fantastic form in front of goal, Lee actually believes that Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes will score at Wembley for the Magpies.
MORE NEWCASTLE STORIES
Lee is the last person to score for Newcastle at Wembley, with a goal against Chelsea in a 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup semi-finals in 2000. Guimaraes said he had spoken to Lee ahead of the game and even rubbed his feet for good luck.
What the Brazilian may not know is that Lee actually scored with his head, rather than his feet.
Either way, Lee made a bold prediction about who will score in the final off the back of that interaction, saying: “I’ve a strange feeling our skipper will score.”
A win on Sunday would see Guimaraes become the first Newcastle captain to lift a trophy since Bobby Moncur in 1969 when the Magpies won the Fairs Cup.
Bruno Guimaraes and Rob Lee form a strong bond
In recent weeks, Guimaraes has bought into the fanbase even more than before, regularly taking to social media after a result or before a game to rally the troops.
Guimaraes asked for Newcastle fans’ support against Nottingham Forest earlier this season, taking his responsibilities as captain off the pitch as well.
Lee and Guimaraes have formed an unbreakable bond over the last few weeks, with the pair regularly engaging in conversation with each other. Guimaraes dedicated Newcastle’s semi-final win to Lee after he missed the game to have surgery.
A win on Sunday could put Guimaraes amongst Lee as one of Newcastle’s best-ever captains, immediately beating everyone in recent history for their cup tallys.
