Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has offered his support to [Gavi after the midfielder was left out of latest Spain squad](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/14/24385637/spain-boss-talks-leaving-gavi-out-recalling-inigo-martinez-and-has-advice-for-lamine-yamal).
Gavi’s omission is not a complete surprise, as he’s only just back from a long injury lay-off, and Flick says the midfielder should not worry at all about it.
> “Of course I talk to him, to everyone. What can I tell you about Gavi, he’s coming off a very serious injury. At the moment, he is not the first after the injury. The second difficult situation is to come back, but he’s one of our best players.
>
> “Our midfield is very good. He will play for many years at this magnificent club and will be one of the stars. He will improve a lot, I am convinced.
>
> “He’s very focused and happy to be here. He has hopes of being in the World Cup and I am convinced that he will be.”
Luis de la Fuente’s decision to go without Gavi does, of course, bring some benefits as it means the midfielder gets the chance to have a break ahead of a crucial stage of the season.
