Tottenham attacker Timo Werner has not recovered completely from his recent hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that Ange Postecoglou’s style of play has also likely factored into the German’s erratic fitness, as he’s struggled to adapt to the system.

The 29-year-old has not featured for the North London outfit since the 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on 26 February.

Fulham v Tottenham: Timo Werner unlikely to start

Despite him being ready to play, the German is unlikely to be in a position where he’s ready to start football matches.

With the Fulham clash at Craven Cottage on Sunday, 16 March, it appears to be too soon for Werner to be named in the playing eleven.

Discussing the state of play with Werner exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“He had a hamstring problem, sounds like Grade 2 out of 4,” he said.

“He has dealt with these throughout his career so I’d chalk it more up to that than the Premier League along with some of the demands that Ange puts on his players with the highest quantity of sprints and pressing intensity.

“*He’s still not got regular game time so I think he’s unlikely to be cleared to start.*“

Premier League prospects dwindling for Timo Werner

Werner’s stint at Tottenham Hotspur has been underwhelming, casting doubt on his Premier League future.

Since joining on loan from RB Leipzig in January 2024, the German striker has struggled to replicate the form that made him a standout at Leipzig.

Premier League stats in 2024-25 Timo Werner

Matches played 18

Goals 0

Assists 3

Timo Werner has struggled at Tottenham.

His goal tally remains meagre, with inconsistency plaguing his performances – flashes of pace and promise undone by poor finishing and questionable decision-making.

Spurs fans, initially hopeful, have grown frustrated as Werner fails to justify a permanent move.

At 29, his age and hefty wages make him a risky prospect, and his lack of impact in North London mirrors his earlier struggles at Chelsea.

With no standout stats or moments to sway suitors, it’s hard to see another Premier League club taking a chance on him.

Werner’s English top-flight journey seems destined to fizzle out, his stock plummeting with each missed opportunity.
