Chelsea have reportedly finalised a deal to sign another Sporting CP player from under Manchester United's nose after they agreed a €50million (£42.1m) deal for Geovany Quenda.
Quenda has been linked with a move to United since Ruben Amorim moved to Old Trafford. The Portuguese handed the 17-year-old his senior debut in August and it's understood interest has been present since then.
However, it was reported on Friday that Chelsea had come from nowhere and agreed a shock deal for the winger. It's believed he will spend next season at Sporting before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2026.
Unfortunately for United, their Premier League rivals are now plotting a move for another player linked with a move to Old Trafford. Midfielder Dario Essugo is close to following Quenda to London according to A Bola, with the Portuguese outlet claiming a €22m (£18.5m) deal has been finalised overnight.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas and has been tipped to be an exciting talent. United had been linked with him previously after his performances in midfield had caught the eye.
But it now seems that Chelsea have pipped them to his signature to deal Amorim two significant transfer blows. CNN Portugal have followed the report by claiming that Essugo will arrive in the capital this summer and sign a seven-year deal.
United have entered the market of signing wonderkids in recent months with Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu. However, Chelsea have become regular customers in the market and the addition of Quenda and Essugo continues that.
