Arsenal v Chelsea

Team news

Arsenal are without Raheem Sterling, who is not permitted to face his parent club.

Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Bukayo Saka remain out, though the latter is making good progress in his recovery from a long-term hamstring injury, according to manager Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who was recalled for last weekend's win against Leicester, will retain his starting spot.

Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia both come back into contention after being ineligible for Thursday's win against Copenhagen, while Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke could return after the international break.

Match facts

Head-to-head

Arsenal are unbeaten in each of their last six Premier League games versus Chelsea (W4, D2), their longest run without a league defeat against them since a run of 19 matches between 1995 and 2005.

The Blues are in danger of losing three consecutive top-flight fixtures at the Emirates for the first time. The last time they were beaten in three successive league games away to the Gunners was between 2001 and 2003 at Highbury.

Arsenal

The Gunners have won one of their past five matches in all competitions, drawing three of those fixtures.

The 1-0 defeat by West Ham on 22 February leaves them in danger of losing back-to-back Premier League London derbies at the Emirates for the first time.

The last time they lost consecutive home league matches against any opposition was in April 2022, versus Liverpool and Brighton.

Mikel Arteta's men have conceded 24 top-flight goals this season, three fewer than any other side.

They have also received five Premier League red cards, more than any other club, albeit one of those was subsequently rescinded.

Chelsea

Chelsea have won three of their previous 19 away league matches against sides starting the day above them in the table (D3, L13), most recently beating Bournemouth 1-0 on 14 September.

The Blues are winless in their last six league matches on the road (D2, L4), losing each of the past three.

But Enzo Maresca's side have won their previous four fixtures in all competitions, including back-to-back Premier League wins at home to Southampton and Leicester.

Cole Palmer has gone 683 minutes without scoring in the Premier League, attempting 29 shots in this time.

He has failed to score in each of his past 10 appearances (seven of them in the league), with his last goal coming against Bournemouth on 14 January.
