David Moyes has made a massive blunder with Carlos Alcaraz as Everton face West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Goodison Park will host Graham Potter’s team on 15 March as the Toffees look to continue their unbeaten run in the English top flight.

The Blues are coming off a 1-1 draw against Wolves at the Molineux, which was their third draw in a row in the Premier League.

Moyes evidently needs to shake things up in order to get back to winning ways, but the Scotsman has made a huge error with Alcaraz ahead of kick-off.

Alcaraz’s record in the Premier League.

In the middle of the park, the Scottish manager kept faith in Idrissa Gueye, James Garner and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Beto will be relied upon once again by Everton up front, with Jack Harrison and Alcaraz potentially providing attacking support from the wings, and the Argentine ace’s inclusion could prove to be a blunder.

Alcaraz should have been benched v West Ham

Alcaraz arrived at Goodison Park from Flamengo in the winter transfer window and has had a mixed start to life back in the Premier League.

The Argentine midfielder had started twice before the West Ham fixture, with his other appearances coming from the bench.

While the 22-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent at the Toffees, he has been underwhelming at times.

Alcaraz replaced Abdoulaye Doucoure against Wolves in the 63rd minute and failed to make much of an impact.

The 22-year-old had a combined xG and xA of 0.16, had 50 per cent shooting accuracy and completed 67 per cent of his dribbles, as per FotMob.

Having picked up a yellow card, being dispossessed thrice and winning just 33 per cent of his duels, the Argentine ace didn’t make a case for himself at Molineux, which makes his inclusion against West Ham surprising.

The Blues are level on points with West Ham, and while relegation isn’t a serious threat, Moyes needs to make sure they climb as high up the Premier League table as they can to build a solid foundation for next season.

A win could take the Blues over Manchester United and Tottenham temporarily before their respective fixtures on Sunday (16 March).
