Former Manchester United goalkeeper and eight members of the current playing squad have shown their true colours following Marcus Rashford's first England call up in 12 months.

The 27-year-old has endured a difficult year for both club and country as he was excluded from the Three Lions' Euro 2024 squad, as well as the Nations League games at the end of the year. Following Ruben Amorim's arrival at Old Trafford, he was also exiled from the United squad, which prompted a January loan move to Premier League side Aston Villa.

Under Unai Emery, Rashford has registered four assists in his nine appearances so far. His upturn in form prompted new England boss Thomas Tuchel to recall him to the England squad for the first time since March last year.

Taking to Instagram after the squad announcement, Rashford sent a defiant message to supporters. "Never stop believing," he wrote. "I can't wait to get started."

A number of his former United teammates showed their support by liking the post, including goalkeeper David de Gea. Fellow striker Joshua Zirkzee, as well as Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot also backed Rashford by liking the post.

Antony, still contracted by United but currently on loan at Real Betis, Christian Eriksen, Harry Amass and Amad also liked Rashford's post.

Fernandes, who is the current captain of United, even went as far as commenting on the post. "Love to see it," he replied, along with a red heart emoji.

Antony also commented with several clapping hands emojis.

Rashford will join up with his England teammates, which includes his current Villa teammates Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers, next week. No United players have been called up by Tuchel for their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia.

After the international break, Rashford and Villa face a significant battle to finish in the top four. They are also gearing up for a huge Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain next month.
