Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Man United star this summer. The player has fallen out-of-favour with the Red Devils and hence can be made available in market. He has been a long-term target for Chelsea.
The star in question here is Kobbie Mainoo who has came up through Man United academy. He has emerged as one of the brightest young players in world football. He is only 19 years old but is a regular first-team member for both Man United and England national team.
Mainoo is loved by United fans and the player also adores his boyhood club. But, he may still move away from the Old Trafford in summer. The reason is his low salary despite the fact that he is main player for both club and country.
Mainoo earns £20,000 per week and his representatives are in talks with club for pay-rise. They want £150,000 per week which the Red Devils are finding hard to offer right now. They are in tough financial state right now and hence major changes are expected.
Chelsea were linked with Mainoo in January but the deal never progressed. But, they have retained their interest in 19 year old and can make a move again in summer. However, they are now joined by Spanish giants in the race.
Real Madrid join the race for Kobbie Mainoo
According to Defensa Central, Madrid have joined the race to sign Kobbie Mainoo. They are keen to add another midfielder to their unit. They view the 19 year old as long-term replacement for Toni Kross who retired last summer.

Madrid same as Chelsea are looking to take advantage of Man United’s current situation. But, the Red Devils will demand a hefty fee for their talented youngster. It is reported they are asking £70 million for Mainoo, same as Alejandro Garnacho.
