Are Jerry’s Cowboys Free Agency Moves Hinted At Draft Plan?

The Dallas Cowboys have made several moves this offseason to add depth and rotational players, making the franchise far more active than it was a year ago.

No, there were no big splashes, but more so, it seems, rather solid picks to help fill out the roster and fix several position needs. However, there is also another thing.

Out of all Dallas' free agency signings (ones made outside the building), just three have been offense: Miles Sanders, Javonte Williams, and Robert Jones. The others? All defense.

Kenneth Murray Jr., Jack Sanborn, Kaiir Elam, Dante Fowler Jr., Payton Turner, and Soloman Thomas are all for Matt Eberflus' defense.

So, does that hint at a possible Cowboys draft plan?

Granted, we are just throwing out an idea here, but with so many defensive players coming in, maybe the Cowboys will look to the draft and have an offensive approach.

A genuine second receiver behind CeeDee Lamb is needed, with Matthew Golden, Tetairoa McMillan, Luther Burden III, and Emeka Egbuka as options.

Despite the signings of Williams and Sanders, another running back is expected to be taken, but in the later rounds. The dream of Ashton Jeanty now looks like it is just that: a dream.

But Omarion Hampton is one to keep an eye on, and the Cowboys might even look at the offensive line as another area they could beef up in the draft as well.

And a running back at some point in the NFL Draft? That seems likely.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at times isn't very good at keeping "secrets,'' and sometimes that's hard to avoid.

The Cowboys have been proactive in free agency, and in doing so, might have just tipped their offensive draft hand in the process.
