Former Arizona linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles signs with Giants

**Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles** is switching coasts as he continues his NFL career.

The former Arizona linebacker has signed to play next season with the New York Giants following five seasons with the San Francisco Giants.

he 28-year-old Flannigan-Fowles was released by San Francisco in February after appearing in 73 games with the 49ers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He was a practice squad player that season before making his NFL debut in 2020, and later that season he made the first of his seven starts including three last season.

In his career, the 6-foot-2, 223-pound Flannigan-Fowles has recorded 96 tackles, most on special teams, and he logged his lone interception in the 2024 season opener against the New York Jets.

A Tucson native, Flannigan-Fowles graduated from Tucson High School before heading to the UA where played in 50 games and made 36 starts from 2015-18. He finished with 243 tackles, 10 for loss, and has six interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
