Eagles’ Offensive Plan Without Mekhi Becton

The Philadelphia Eagles had the best offensive line in football before Mekhi Becton walked through the doors of the Novacare Complex.

It's a safe bet that they will be perfectly fine without him heading into the 2025 season.

Becton signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers Friday evening - a move that meant five starters from Philadelphia's Super Bowl team last year will be playing for other teams for the upcoming season.

Unlike many of those losses like Milton Williams, Darius Slay, or Josh Sweat, the Eagles are prepared for Becton's loss. Not because they have a backup ready to take the reigns as the full-time starter.

But because the coach running the show is so much better at his job than anyone else.

Jeff Stoutland has taken reclamation projects and made them into quality starters along the Eagles offensive line for decades. First it was Evan Mathis. Then came players like Brandon Brooks, Isaac Seumalo, and Stefan Wisnewski.

Becton was just the latest in a long line of players who Stoutland has worked with and turned into a quality player in Philadelphia.

The good news for the Eagles is that Stoutland isn't retiring anytime soon.

So with Becton leaving, and two guards jockeying in a position battle at this point with Tyler Steen and Kenyon Green competing, Stoutland's next task will be trying to figure out how to find a way to keep the offensive line among the elites in the game.

Considering the team still has four All-Pro or Pro Bowl caliber players on the line, it's a safe bet that the Eagles will be just fine.
