Just a month removed from claiming the title of Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles have seen several players leave in free agency over the last week. In total, five starters and three additional role players are all playing elsewhere in 2025.
That number could grow to six with one more trade this offseason.
Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported Thursday evening that the Eagles were expected to open up trade talks for tight end Dallas Goedert.
And one team may be the perfect fit for a potential deal.
The Indianapolis Colts are looking for a starting tight end to dominate the middle of the field for them for either Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson. Head coach Shane Steichen was Philadelphia's offensive coordinator for two seasons from 2021-2022.
In those years, Goedert recorded over 1,500 yards, seven touchdowns, and over 100 catches. The Colts remain a team that is expected to be heavily interested in the 30-year-old tight end - especially with an offensive play-caller who knows what to do with the receiver.
The tricky part of any Goedert deal is the fact that the veteran has battled injuries over the last few seasons and the Eagles may be asking for too much compensation at this point.

Philadelphia has been rumored to ask for a fourth-round pick for the tight end. Goedert hasn't played 17 games in his career and has played in at least 14 games once in the last three seasons.
Keeping Goedert on the field has been a challenge for the Eagles. It could be the reason why teams stay away from a potential deal.
Unless a team like the Colts with Steichen decides to step up.
