Alexander Isak of Newcastle United
Alexander Isak's contract discussions are booked in for the end of the season at St James' Park with Newcastle United increasingly confident of the player agreeing to a new bumper deal.
Isak made his feelings very clear on his future on Friday when insisting he can achieve all of his dreams at Newcastle despite talk of Arsenal and Liverpool being keen to lure him away from the North-East. But while club chiefs and the Magpies' Saudi-backers are relaxed about Isak's position with the striker tied down until 2028, it is understood that PIF are happy to green light a historical contract offer to one of the hottest properties in Europe right now.
One thing is for sure, Isak's next deal will undoubtedly be the biggest dished out to a player in Newcastle history, and he is certain to soar past some of the club's top earners, such as Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton. Isak could well break past the £150,000 per week mark and potentially earn close to £200,000 per week if Newcastle pull off the lucrative offer.
Suggestions that Callum Wilson will leave at the end of the season will clear up to £5million per year off the wage the bill and there could well be other departures for fringe players such as Matt Targett and Odysseas Vlachodimos to make more headroom ahead of the summer window.
If Wilson does go, the prospect of a new forward is highly likely with Jonathan David, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman and Justin Kluivert all on the watchlist. As the club's PSR cycle reaches a new stage, there could be around £100million to spend on new stars.
Speaking on being open to a new deal, Isak said: "Yeah, yeah, I think I’ve said I’m not really thinking about the summer but yeah that’ll probably be a talking point once the season is finished. We will really see because no talks have been held yet."

The return of the Dreamboat
There will be one very familiar face at Wembley's Boxpark on Sunday before the match when fans pack out the 2,500 capacity venue on Carabao Cup final day. A star-studded line-up of ex-Newcastle aces has been lined up for cup final day after the lucky punters who landed a ticket get to spend their pre-match build-up in real style.
On top of the bill will be former France international Yohan Cabaye, who has agreed to join guests such as Ryan Taylor and Tim Krul for the big day. Cabaye has always been grateful about his time on Tyneside, despite leaving for PSG and says: "I felt at home from the first minute I arrived in the city."

Dan Burn's England call-up proved to be a welcome distraction on Friday morning
Eddie Howe and his staff led the round of applause for Dan Burn after his richly deserved England call-up on Friday. Burn was told by Thomas Tuchel on Thursday when he received a call out of the blue before the news was released the following morning.
At his Press conference, Howe said: "It's an incredible moment for Dan - there is no one more deserving in my opinion. He's such an inspiring guy and a talented player.
"It is a great football story. Dan has had to do it the hard way, coming through the leagues. He is the model professional - he is so committed to what he does. His character is so stable and so level. I am so pleased for him on a personal level."
