Mohammed Kudus once again failed to deliver as West Ham drew 1-1 with Everton in the Premier League.

Kudus disappointed in what was an underwhelming first half at Goodison Park on Saturday (15 March).

However, the Hammers looked a lot more lively in the second, and two of the club’s most reliable players, Jarrod Bowen and Tomáš Souček, linked up to put the visitors in front and prove Paul Merson wrong.

Potter’s side couldn’t hold on for all three points however, with Jake O’Brien popping up for the hosts in the closing moments of the match.

Here, West Ham Zone rates each player out of 10.

West Ham defenders let themselves down late on v Everton

Alphonse Areola – 5

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

Forced into a couple of saves, but nothing too demanding. Almost got caught on the ball midway through the second half but just about managed to get away with it. Couldn’t do anything about the equaliser.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5

Looked to get forward when he could and defended relatively well.

Jean-Clair Todibo – 6

Had a half decent opportunity to put West Ham in front in the first half. Defended well as the Hammers went close to keeping a big clean sheet.

Max Kilman – 6

Had some defending to do and stood up to the task.

Konstantinos Mavropanos – 6

Thought he had given away a penalty on the stroke of half-time. However, after an on-field VAR review, the decision was rightly overturned with Beto making the most of the contact. Defended well otherwise, but perhaps should have done better for the late Everton goal.

Emerson – 6

Had a lot of defending to do down his side in the first half and for the most part the Brazilian handled things. Was a constant presence on the left for West Ham throughout the match.

James Ward-Prowse – 5

Put in a couple of dangerous deliveries, which West Ham almost scored from. Helped to keep things ticking in the middle of the park.

Tomáš Souček – 6

Fans would have been forgiven for not noticing that the midfielder was on the pitch before he suddenly popped up with a big goal, producing a fantastic finish in the 67th minute.

Kudus disappoints as West Ham attackers underwhelm

Lucas Paquetá – 5

A passenger in the first half, and while he did work hard defensively in the second, he wasn’t able to have his usual attacking impact on proceedings.

Jarrod Bowen – 8

Showed brilliant ability on the ball to run at the Everton backline before teeing up Souček. Produced a couple of dangerous shots as well. West Ham’s liveliest player, as he so often is.

Mohammed Kudus – 4

Just like Paquetá, offered absolutely nothing in the opening 45 minutes. Looked a bit more lively in the second half but was still wasteful. Some of his defensive work was commendable, but he just didn’t make enough of an impact at the other end of the pitch.
