Fulham host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, with both teams on either side of the league table and most likely with different aspirations as the 2024/25 campaign reaches its climax.
For Marco Silva's men, a victory could take them into the top eight depending on other results and right into the hunt for a European place, with eighth position likely to secure a team UEFA Conference League football come the end of the season - albeit unconfirmed as of now.
For The Lilywhites, three points would take them a point away from Brentford depending on how they fare in their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday evening. Every point is now crucial as they look to make what can only be described as a miraculous push for Europe via the league places with ten games to go.
When the two sides met in the reverse fixture in November, there was no way through for either side with the game ending in a stalemate. Brennan Johnson fired Spurs in front with a typical back-post finish, before Tom Cairney equalised with 23 minutes to go. The Fulham captain was later dismissed but the hosts that day were unable to find a late winner.
Fulham have just one win in the league at home against Sunday's opponents since November 2008, with that coming last season as they won 3-0.
Fulham
The Cottagers will be without Reiss Nelson (thigh), Kenny Tete (foot) and Harry Wilson (knee), whilst midfield enforcer Sasa Lukic is suspended after reaching ten yellow cards.
Winger Adama Traore is doubtful with an ankle injury, which saw the Spaniard miss the late defeat at Brighton a week ago, but there are no other injury issues for Marco Silva to contend with.
Tottenham Hotspur
Ange Postecoglou will once again be unable to call upon defenders Radu Dragusin and Kevin Danso, who are both out with ACL and hamstring injuries, respectively. Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski will miss the game with a foot injury.
Richarlison is also unavailable with a calf injury he picked up during the Carabao Cup semi-final loss at Anfield in February, but if all goes well, the Brazilian could return after the international break along with Danso and Kulusevski.
The Australian confirmed that there were no 'fresh injury concerns' from the victory over Alkmaar on Thursday night, with Rodrigo Bentancur returning from a suspension which kept him out of that win.
Likely lineup
Fulham(4-2-3-1): Leno (GK); Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Andreas; Adama, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Raul.
Tottenham Hotspur(4-3-3): Vicario (GK); Pedro Porro, Romero, Gray, Udogie; Bentancur, Bergvall, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Tel.
Key players
Fulham - Emile Smith Rowe
The former Arsenal man could be pivotal for Fulham if they are to pick up three points on Marco Silva's 200th Premier League game as a Manager.
Having started last week at the AMEX Stadium, the Englishman is in line to start yet again and with Spurs having issues in midfield this season, this could be the perfect day for Smith Rowe to work his magic and add to his five goals and two assists so far this campaign.
There could be plenty of space for the 24-year-old to enjoy, with Spurs committed to getting plenty of bodies forward when attacking, however, they will have to be somewhat cautious as Smith Rowe is a chief creator when given the time to work his magic.
Tottenham Hotspur - Rodrigo Bentancur
The Uruguayan is set to be recalled to the starting eleven after missing the midweek win in the Europa League through a suspension.
Set to replace Pape Sarr after what was a tiring and dedicated performance during the week, Bentancur must meet the standard required to help his side as they look to improve their position in the Premier League following a dismal first half of the campaign.
With the ability to dictate the tempo of any match in possession, it is also important that he remains grounded defensively with the hosts able to turn defence into attack rapidly with the likes of Adama Traore and Alex Iwobi on the wings - a position Bentancur is often seen covering as Spurs' full-backs push high.
