An injury time equaliser from Everton's Jake O'Brien prevented West Ham from securing back-to-back Premier League away wins.
In a game dubbed the David Moyes Derby, it was the Scot's former side who took the lead midway through the second half when two of Moyes' biggest success stories in east London - Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek - combined to put the Hammers within reach of a vital away win.
However as the game entered added-on time at the end of a well-fought encounter, Idrissa Gueye's centre was converted by the Irish centre half to ensure the home side - who extended their unbeaten run to nine games as a result - enjoyed a share of the spoils.
