When the San Francisco 49ers announced they had cut star fullback Kyle Juszczyk last week, perhaps no one took the news harder than tight end George Kittle, one of Juszczyk's best friends.
Kittle tweeted a broken-heart emoji with a juice box emoji the day the FB was released in a cap-cutting decision that wasn't popular among 49er fans.
However, with the Pittsburgh Steelers aggressively pursuing the nine-time Pro Bowler, the 49ers reversed course and re-signed Juszczyk to a two-year $8 million deal, which lowers his average annual salary from $5.4 million to a more team-friendly $4 million.
The deal also includes a $250,000 bonus if Juszczyk makes the Pro Bowl, which he's done every year since 2016.
After the news of her husband's re-signing broke, Juszczyk's wife Kristin took to social media to express her gratitude about not leaving San Francisco.
"This past week has really made Kyle and I reflect on our past 8 years in the Bay," Kristin wrote. "We grew up here. We turned friends into family here. We won championships here and we lost championships here.
"We feel so incredibly blessed to have called the bay home for the past 8 years. It's truly been the best years of our lives. Kyle's curtain isn't closed just yet and we couldn't be more happy and emotional to stay home!!! We're forever Faithful."

And while many of Juszczyk's teammates made celebratory posts on their social media accounts, including Kittle, the All-Pro TE's also reacted to Kristin's heartfelt Instagram post.
"," Kittle commented.
While Juszczyk staying put is good news for the 49ers' on-field product, it's also good news for the Kittles on a personal level as Juszczyk's are some of their closest friends and Kittle's wife Claire and Kristin are typically inseparable at 49ers games.
