Wolves beat Southampton 2-1 away from home. Ivan Juric will now be preparing for life in the Championship.

The Saints did manage to pull one back late on, but Jorgen Strand Larsen’s brace proved too much for the home team to overcome.

As a result, Wolves have moved nine points clear of the drop, and Juric won’t want to be reminded of what he said about their relegation chances just before the two teams met.

Although Southampton would have accepted their relegation fate weeks ago, the side still aim to cause other teams problems, and Saturday’s game at St. Mary’s was no different.

Despite his team not being expected to get a result, Juric was felt confident his men would turn up and take at least point from the Old Gold.

Speaking to reporters at the Daily Echo in his pre-match press conference, the Southampton manager said: “I think that after this game, they will be a little less safe in the Premier League.”

The Croatian’s comments didn’t age well after Wolves ran out 2-1 winners over Southampton and ensured all the points went back to the Midlands.

Vitor Pereira equals club record with latest win

Juric probably wasn’t aware of Southampton’s abysmal record against Wolves, but, before Saturday’s encounter, the side from the south coast had lost all of their last six matchups.
