Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has addressed the lack of Nottingham Forest representation in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.
Attacker Morgan Gibbs-White, winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and midfielder Elliot Anderson would all have been hoping to get a Three Lions call-up for the upcoming international fixtures. However, not a single Reds player was included when Tuchel named his group on Friday morning.
Anderson was called up to the Under-21s, but all three responded by putting in excellent performances for Forest as they signed off for the international break with a win. The trio contributed to a big 4-2 triumph over Ipswich Town at Portman Road for Nuno’s side.
“What they have to do is what they did today - work and play good,” Nuno said. “For sure, the next chance will be in front of them.
“What they have to do is stay focused and stay humble. For sure, Thomas Tuchel will look at our players and take them because they are talented players and they can help England.
“I didn’t have to speak to them about it. I think they are experienced enough to realise that in this world of football there are decisions to be made and respect to those who make the decisions.”

Anthony Elanga scored a brace to help see off the Tractor Boys, while Nikola Milenkovic and Jota Silva also got on the scoresheet. The three points moved third-placed Forest another step closer towards securing Champions League football.
“You know what I think about the table,” Nuno added. “Now our focus is to wish our players going to their national teams all the best. We are very proud they play for their countries.
“Overall, it was a good performance. We have to focus on ourselves and work as hard as we can because there’s a lot of football still to be played.”
