There have been many former Las Vegas Raiders on the move this free agency. Though defensive tackle Jerry Tillery played with the Minnesota Vikings last season, he did have a notable two-year stretch in Las Vegas.
After spending a season in the NFC, Tillery is heading back to the AFC West. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tillery is signing a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
This will be the third AFC West team that the defensive tackle has played for as he was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers back in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Tillery has spent the majority of his career being an enemy of the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes but they'll now be teammates. The former Notre Dame star hasn't been able to live up to his status as a first-round quick but he has continued to have a productive career.
The Chiefs lost defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton and defensive end and defensive end Josh Uche in free agency so Tillery will help replace those players. He has experience playing on the interior and exterior of the defensive line. His versatility should help the Chiefs.
Kansas City still likely needs to address the defensive line in the draft even with the Tillery signing.
