Ramon Sosa delivers shocking Instagram message after latest Nottingham Forest snub

Nottingham Forest’s 4-2 win over Ipswich Town brought the club another step closer to Champions League football, but a comment from Ramon Sosa put a slight dampener on the day.

Forest fans thought Elliot Anderson was excellent against Ipswich in what was a fairly comfortable afternoon for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, whose only disappointment would’ve been conceding to unnecessary goals.

Saturday also gave travelling supporters the chance to vocalise their disappointment about the recently announced England squad, as Forest fans aimed a dig at Thomas Tuchel against Ipswich.

However, one aspect of the Ipswich trip, and plenty of other games recently, was the absence of Ramon Sosa from the Forest squad. Sosa signed for Forest in the summer but has not received any minutes since the FA Cup penalties victory over Exeter City, a game in which he scored.

This has led to unexpected speculation about his future at the City Ground, which has only been fueled by his latest social media activity.

Ramon Sosa hints at Nottingham Forest issues in Instagram story

Sosa was linked with a move to Boca Juniors in January but remained in England for the time being, still performing well when given the opportunity.

In fact, Sosa made the decision to stay at Forest despite a reported bid in the winter, but he may be regretting this move based on what he posted on Instagram.

In an Instagram story responding to being called up to the Paraguay national team, Sosa replied: “Mi única motivación”, which translates to ‘my only motivation’ in English.

This is certainly a worrying comment as Reds fans would like to think that getting back into the Forest squad to contribute to the Champions League push would be a motivation for the winger, but perhaps his absence from the team has made Sosa more frustrated than first realised.

Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, his case was not improved on Saturday by the performances of the competition for his place.

Ramon Sosa’s Nottingham Forest chances weren’t helped by the attacking display vs Ipswich Town

Whilst his appearances are rare, Sosa impressed Forest fans against Luton Town, so there is a level of love from the stands for the Paraguayan.

However, that is nothing compared to how they feel about Anthony Elanga, whose brace against Ipswich makes it even more difficult to see a change on the wings by the Forest manager on the horizon.

More damaging, though, was the display of Jota Silva off the bench, who scored Forest’s fourth goal after excellent work from Morgan Gibbs-White.

Roy Keane criticised Jota Silva’s display against Exeter, but he has managed to retain his place on the bench for the Premier League games. Therefore, his goal against Ipswich will only firm up that place to the detriment of Sosa, as Espirito Santo shows no sign of having them both in the squad.

It was revealed that playing in the Premier League was a dream for Sosa, but is fast becoming a nightmare that might come to an end soon, given his activity on social media.
