The Brooklyn Nets have been suffering through a rough all-around 2024-25 NBA season. At this point in the year, they hold a 22-44 record and are clearly already out of the race for the playoffs.
A new update will make the rest of their season even more difficult.
On Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls, Nets guard Cam Thomas suffered an injury. That injury will likely keep him out for the remainder of the year.
According to a report from NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Thomas has suffered a hamstring strain and likely won't return this season.
"Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas is expected to miss the rest of the regular season after being diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. The injury occurred during Thursday night's game at Chicago," Scott wrote on X.
Thomas has been Brooklyn's best scorer this season and his production will be missed greatly.
Throughout the course of the season, Thomas has played in 25 games and received 23 starts. He has averaged 24.0 points per game to go along with 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds.
In addition to his averages, Thomas has shot 43.8% from the floor and 34.9% from the three-point line.
Earlier in the season, Thomas missed over a month due to a hamstring injury. He has seen his entire season derailed by injuries.
With his season likely over, the 23-year-old dynamic scoring guard will look to attack his recovery process and get back to full strength for the 2025-26 season.
Next up for the Nets will be a Saturday night matchup against the Boston Celtics.
