Mavericks Lose Another Player To Injury

Just when it seems like things can’t get any worse for the Dallas Mavericks, their nightmarish season becomes more complicated.

On Friday night, Shams Charania reported, via Legion Hoops, that Dante Exum has suffered a broken hand and is now out indefinitely.

Many fans are just hoping for the season to be over so they start looking forward to a new start in 2025-26.

The Mavericks’ injury report feels like an epic novel at this point.

Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, Jaden Hardy, Kyrie Irving, Kai Jones, PJ Washington, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, and Dereck Lively II are all out, with some not expected to return at all this season.

Of course, the team is still recovering from the shocking loss of Luka Doncic.

This season has steadily gotten worse for the Mavericks and the bad luck seemed to start when Nico Harrison chose to ship Doncic off to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since then, postseason hopes have dwindled and the team has collapsed.

The Mavs are currently the 10th seed in the West and have a 33-35 record.

There is a chance of them battling in the play-in tournament and they could surprise everyone and actually earn a spot in the postseason.

But a lot of people feel that any injured player should simply be shut down so they can fully recover.

They believe this season is a lost cause and it’s best to put it in the rearview mirror as soon as possible.

Exum isn’t one of Dallas’ most important players but this injury still stings because it shows the bad breaks aren’t slowing down.

How much worse can it get for the Mavericks?

Fans don’t want to ask for fear of finding out.
