Browns Could Possibly Sign Free Agent Quarterback Under One Condition

The Cleveland Browns' quarterback possibilities are dwindling. The top free agent still available is Russell Wilson, who they would love to have.

But there could be a catch to whatever team wants Wilson's services.

Other teams are also vying for Wilson's services. New York Giants insider Ruben Vargas reported that the team offered the former Seahawks, Broncos and Steelers signal caller a one-year deal, but Wilson wants two.

He's 36 and not getting any younger.

Would the Browns be willing to give a quarterback who is clearly past his prime a two-year deal? They might not have a choice.

Last season, Wilson made 11 starts in Pittsburgh and threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 63.7 percent of his passes.

He took over the starting role from Justin Fields, who started the first six games of the season and went 4-2. Wilson took over and went 6-5 after winning the first six games he started.

The five-game losing streak bled into the postseason where Pittsburgh lost to the Ravens in the Wild Card Round.

Wilson would already be the best quarterback the Browns have employed since Baker Mayfield was still wearing their uniform, but is the team willing to do a two-year deal?
