Philadelphia Eagles continue to reshape their coaching staff following their Super Bowl LIX victory, tapping the college ranks once again with the addition of 26-year-old Cole Peterson as assistant to head coach Nick Sirianni, according to CBSSports/247Sports.
Peterson joins Philadelphia from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he served as chief of staff and executive director of football operations. This role will position him as a personal assistant to Sirianni, distinct from higher-level coaching positions such as assistant head coach or associate head coach.
This marks the third college coaching hire for Philadelphia this offseason as it works to fill vacancies created after its championship run. The organization previously brought in former Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler to replace Doug Nussmeier as quarterbacks coach after Nussmeier departed to join Kellen Moore's staff in New Orleans. Additionally, Montgomery VanGorder, former Notre Dame and Youngstown State quarterback who served as assistant quarterbacks coach at Georgia, has been hired as an offensive assistant.
Peterson's coaching journey includes a stint as assistant to head coach Tom Allen at Indiana University. He also made history as the youngest director of player personnel in college football during his time at Youngstown State.

Philadelphia is still determining whether Kevin Patullo will retain his associate head coach title following his promotion to offensive coordinator, replacing Moore, who left to become head coach of New Orleans Saints.
As Philadelphia prepares to defend its championship in the upcoming season, these strategic additions to Sirianni's staff demonstrate the organization's commitment to blending experienced leadership with fresh perspectives from the collegiate level.
