49ers’ McCaffrey’s Heart Mended With Return of Juszczyk

Christian McCaffrey's weekend was made when he was informed the San Francisco 49ers were going to re-sign his friend, fullback Kyle Juszczyk who was waived on Tuesday.

McCaffrey, who was reportedly heartbroken by his being cut by the team on Tuesday, posted a picture of the two players on social media with a very simple caption.

"Back"

The players were smiling and looked giddy in the photo. If there was a picture of McCaffrey after the ink on the contract became dry, he would probably be grinning from ear to ear.

Tight end George Kittle and his wife Claire had posted on Tuesday how heartbroken they were. Kittle had his own celebratory social media posting which welcomed his buddy Juice back to the team.

Juszczyk had a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, who reportedly offered him a contract for more money. He wanted to return to his friends and family in San Francisco.

Prior to joining the 49ers, he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He is entering his ninth season with the club.

The re-signing of Juszczyk was atypical of the 49ers offseason. They have waived many players who will not be brought back. Juice was just very fortunate to have everyone on his side.

The fullback has 378 receptions for 2,664 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career. He has rushed for 237 yards and six touchdowns.

He has been voted to the Pro Bowl in each of his eight seasons with the 49ers. Juszczyk was voted a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and second-team All-Pro in 2024.
