Former New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams wasn't the only newcomer to struggle mightily for the team last season.
If anything, he was the player who was most understanding of having the poor kind of year he had. Williams tore his ACL during the 2023 season and it was clear the former Los Angeles Charger was not back to 100% throughout the 2024 season.
After signing a contract to return to the Chargers, Williams is back where he feels he belongs. And it leaves his with the swagger to talk about how poor last year went for him.
"Last year was terrible for me, for sure I'm just being honest," Williams said. "It was terrible. Probably the worst year I've had in the league by far. So I'm just putting it in the past, that was the past, & I'm trying to make it feel like it didn't happen for me."
Williams recorded just 12 catches for 166 yards with the Jets and was later shopped to the Pittsburgh Steelers where he caught just nine passes for 132 yards and a single touchdown.

The numbers were easily the worst of his career for a full season since his injury-plagued rookie season back in 2017.
He is hoping a return to the Chargers will get his career back on track. Being a full-year removed from his ACL injury should help matters.
But it's another example of just how bad New York's offseason really was from a roster building perspective.
