Two offseasons ago, the New York Jets were essentially waiting to hear whether or not four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers would be willing to play for them after a new two-decade run with the Green Bay Packers.
Now, three teams are essentially waiting for a decision from Rodgers again - the Jets are not one of those teams.

New York announced at the start of free agency that they would be releasing Rodgers after a two-year run with the team and just five wins the year prior as the starting quarterback. The failure of a 2024 season resulted in the firing of both the head coach and the general manager who wanted him in the first place.
Now, Rodgers is looking for a new team and apparently has his sights set on one organization.
The New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minnesota Vikings are all tied or have some semblance of interest in the 41-year-old quarterback. For Rodgers, though, that interest is shared with just one of them.

"Rodgers has been targeted by the Steelers and Giants but has essentially put both teams on hold while he waits for clarity on the Vikings' situation," The Athletic's Dianna Russini said.
It is quite incredible that a quarterback who won just five games the year prior is essentially holding two other teams' hostage because he "hopes" that a third team will be interested more.
A quick scan of social media shows NFL fans are bothered by all of this selfish drama.
We wonder if the bidding teams feel the same way.
Yes, Rodgers may be a future Hall-of-Famer, but in a league famous for unusually short shelf-lives for stars around the league, the veteran quarterback may be thinking more about who he was instead of what he is now.
