Warriors Make Steve Kerr Announcement After Knicks Game

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA as of late, led by head coach Steve Kerr.

On Saturday, the Warriors defeated the New York Knicks 97-94. Golden State sits at No. 6 in the Western Conference standings, just outside of the play-in, with a 39-28 record.

Amid the Warriors' seven-game win streak, Golden State's official social media account revealed a historic feat from Kerr.

Kerr has passed Alvin Attles for the most regular-season wins (558) by a Warriors coach in franchise history.

"Our coach, the winningest coach," Kerr said.

Our coach, the winningest coach.

While it's been an up-and-down season for Golden State, Kerr's recent success should be highlighted by the Warriors' previous dynasty.

From 2014 to 2019, the Warriors took part in five straight NBA Finals series. They earned three championship victories over the Cleveland Cavaliers during that span and also earned a championship ring against the Boston Celtics during the 2021-22 season.

Much of Kerr's success with the Warriors has come from a grouping of All-Star talent, such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.

While Durant and Thompson are no longer with the team, Curry has served as the organization's anchor throughout the past decade.

So far this season, the 37-year-old has averaged 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
