The Golden State Warriors were able to defeat the New York Knicks on Saturday night in a very close contest. When all was said and done, the final score was 97-94.
Following the win, the Warriors have now gone 14-1 since acquiring Jimmy Butler and having him in the lineup.
Steve Kerr also made franchise history with the win. As announced by Golden State on X, he became the team's all-time winningest head coach in the regular season. He passed Alvin Attles for that record.
After the win, the Warriors hold a 39-28 record. Suddenly, they look the part of a championship contender once again.
Here is the announcement the team made about Kerr setting the new franchise record:
Our coach, the winningest coach.

NBA fans were quick to start reacting to the news. Some of the comments were in favor of Kerr, while others don't think he deserves the credit for all the success he has had in Golden State.
"Good accomplishment but I mean, anyone could have won with the stacked teams he has had. Probably David Blatt would have done the same," one commenter said.
Another comment read, "Rafters will have a Kerr, Curry, Thompson, and Green banner."
"Watching Steve Kerr prove all the nay sayers wrong yet again and again," another comment read.
"Impressive feat but the team strength played a role," another fan wrote.
No matter what anyone's opinion on Kerr actually is, recording 558 wins is not an easy thing to do in the NBA. Kerr deserves all of the recognition he gets from this record.
