Expected Chelsea XI vs Arsenal as Lavia returns to side and Sancho dropped

Chelsea have the opportunity to move within three points of second-place Arsenal in the Premier League this afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.

The Blues make the short trip to north London in what will be their 29th top-flight match of the season as the visitors look to win their fifth straight game in all competitions. Enzo Maresca's side have beaten Southampton, Leicester City and Copenhagen (x2) in their last four matches but this afternoon's showdown with the Gunners is certainly the most difficult on paper.

With such a short turnaround - less than 72 hours - since the victory over Copenhagen on Thursday evening, there are some serious selection dilemmas for Maresca as well. He took the opportunity to rest some players at Stamford Bridge in the week but some played more minutes than he would probably have initially envisaged.

There was a return to the squad for Reece James, who missed last weekend's win against Leicester due to illness. Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana - who are both fit again - were not selected for the Conference League squad. They were both in attendance in SW6 but were allowed a rest.

With all of this being said, football.london's Chelsea correspondent Bobby Vincent does his best at trying to predict the line-up Maresca will run with at the Emirates Stadium, with the head coach having the chance to field his first-choice defence for the first time this season.
